Get Involved!

Net Change is a team effort. It happens with your support, your energy and your creativity. Check out the many ways you can be involved as a Net Change agent!

Volunteer

During June 7-11, 2010 our volunteers are unleashed onto the Net Change event as “roving reporters,” buzzing around the MaRS Centre to capture the spirit of the week. Whether your interest is as videographer, journalist, blogger or administrator, we have something for you.

Won’t be around that week? You can still help! Inquire about opportunities to help drive our social media campaign!

Host a Satellite Event

The Future Panel and Cybersecurity Panel are highlights on the Net Change calendar. The all-star panelists are esteemed global thought-leaders in areas as diverse as education, popular culture, national security and philanthropy.

To literally think outside the box, we’re taking the message outside of the MaRS walls and spreading it across Canada. Interested in taking part in these unique discussions? As a “Satellite Event Host,” you will be able to live-stream the event to your own audience and join the Q&A as an interactive component.
Montreal and Waterloo are already among community partners! Take the lead on behalf of your town or city!

You can choose to screen one or both discussions. Each event will take place on Thursday June 10, 2010.

The Future Panel is scheduled to begin at 12.30pm EST
The Cybersecurity Panel is scheduled to begin at 2.30pm EST

Future Lab

The Future Lab is a unique opportunity to workshop solutions to systemic social or environmental problems. Passionate about making change but unsure where to start? Here’s your chance to suggest an idea – or a “wicked problem,” and collaborate with a room of experts to create solutions. As team leader, you must demonstrate the capacity (either as organizational or company support, or individual commitment as an entrepreneur) to realize the solution after the Future Lab.

Three project leads will be pre-selected to enter into the lab on Thursday June 10, and will have less than 48hrs to formulate the game plan for realizing the idea out in the world. In front of a live audience, the lab solutions will be presented and a winner chosen by a panel of judges on Friday June 11.

So, what’s your wicked problem? While we seem to have an abundance, we’re more interested in hearing from you!

The submission process for lab projects has now closed. Please join us for the presentation of the solutions on Friday June 11 at 2.30pm.
